WC Pool 2026

Rules and explanation

Short, clear and detailed enough for friendly group-chat debates.

Deadlines

You can enter and edit until Thursday, 11 June 2026 at 21:00 (the first World Cup match).

Grace period: group matches that have not been played yet can still be entered or edited until Sunday, 14 June 2026 at 21:00 — but every match always closes 30 min before kick-off. Started or played matches stay locked and score no points without a prediction.

Knockouts and bonus questions also remain editable until Sunday, 14 June 2026 at 21:00. After that everything is locked.

World Cup pools

Besides the overall leaderboard you can create or join sub-pools — your own private battle with family, friends or colleagues.

  • Always included: everyone is also listed in the overall World Cup 2026 ranking.
  • Multiple pools: feel free to join more than one sub-pool (family, friends, colleagues).
  • Private invite code: every sub-pool has a manager and a secret code/link to join.
  • Management: the manager can remove members and appoint moderators.
  • Custom look: managers and moderators can style the sub-pool and post messages.
  • Ranking: a sub-pool scores on the points of its best 4 players.

Data and results

Your predictions stay private until the deadline. When results come in, we recalculate the leaderboard: first match points, then round picks. Bonus questions only score once the final is finished and the champion is known.

Edge cases

  • Moved match: your prediction moves with it and still counts in the original round.
  • Cancelled or abandoned: without an official final score we award no match points; with an official final score we use that score.
  • Corrections afterwards: if an official result or tournament fact changes, we recalculate the ranking.
  • Bonus statistics: penalty shootouts count as shootouts, but shoot-out goals do not count toward total goals or team with most goals.
  • Group-standing tiebreak: for your last 32 we sort by points, goal difference, goals for, goals against and then country code.
  • Knockout: countries that reach a round count based on the official winner, including extra time or penalties.

Scoring

  • Exact score: 12 points (the maximum per match).
  • Correct winner or draw: 6 points, plus 2 for the correct goal difference and 2 for each exact team goal.
  • Netherlands counts double: matches involving the Netherlands earn double match points (max 24 per match).
  • Knockout rounds: increasing from the last 32 to world champion — a strong finish really counts.
  • Bonus questions: including team with most goals and how far the Netherlands will go.
Full scoring table
Matches: Exact 12 · winner/draw 6 · goal diff 2 · team goal 2 · Netherlands ×2
Knockouts: Last 32: 4 · R16: 8 · quarter: 14 · semi: 24 · finalist: 32 per country
Bonus: Most-goals team 24 · Netherlands 24 · goals 36 (-1) · red 10 (-1) · fastest goal 24/12/6 · shootouts 24 (-4) · champion 48

Per match, 12 points is the maximum (Netherlands matches count double: max 24). With an exact score, the partial points are not stacked; with a partly correct prediction, correct direction, goal difference and team goals do add up.

Example

You predict 2–1, the result is 2–0. Correct winner (6) + home team exactly 2 goals (2) = 8 points. Exact 2–1 would have been the full 12 points.
